Wes Anderson x Roman Coppola for Prada♥✕
Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola have teamed up for a series of super-short films for Candy L’Eau, a new perfume by Prada. It’s not the first time Prada chooses for high-fashion films, as Roman Polanski directed last year’s delightful ‘A Therapy’, starring Helena Bonham Carter and Ben Kingsley. Miuccia Prada has handpicked Anderson and Coppola to create these ‘mini-films’.
The series is classic Anderson with its beautiful, delicate aesthetic and striking symmetry, down to the espresso saucers and the arrangement of the candles on the cake. The film is irreverent and witty and inspired by classic French new wave films, such as Jules et Jim. French actress Lea Seydoux (Midnight In Paris) plays the starlet caught between the affections of two young men - appropriately called Julius and Jim – except she’s too busy munching popcorn and acting cute to notice.
